Cartagena All Inclusives

Surely the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Columbia is not the romantic city of Cartagena (known as the ‘Venice of Columbia’). This magnificent city is a perfect mix of sun, sand, and colonial charm. It is unlike any other Columbian destinations. Whether you are taking time to relax at one of Cartagena’s many open-air cafes, strolling through the mazes of cobbles alleys, or checking out the city’s colonial architecture (packed with churches, monasteries, plazas, palaces and mansions).

Cartagena’s old city is its principal attraction, particularly the inner walled town. Another main attraction are some of the area’s popular beaches. Cartagena is nearly surrounded by the Caribbean Sea. Small, coral stone protected beaches can be found only a few meters outside the inner walled city. The larger beach extends around the peninsula of Bocagrande and Laguito (the other popular tourist destination of Cartagena). A short 25 cent bus ride away is another popular beach called Manzanilla Beach.

The above beaches are closest to the city hotels. Some other great beaches around the area are: Bocachica Beach, Playa Blanca, and the pristine Beaches of the Rosario Islands (reached only by boat and perfect for daytrips involving snorkeling, diving, and lunch at one of the beautiful restaurants).

Cartagena is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is known to be one of the most impressive old towns in the Western Hemisphere. For a traveler who enjoys mixing it up between days at the beach, days exploring the old city, and days scuba-diving or snorkeling around coral reefs,  a visit to this area of South America will be like a trip you’ve never experienced.

Here are some excellent all-inclusive hotels and resorts in Cartagena that are worth looking into:
