Extreme Adventure in San Diego

Posted on: September 6th, 2011 by paul

San Diego is all about the surf and sand, but it has more to offer than just the beaches and the ocean. If you are into some out there types of adrenalin inducing entertainment, you will find that the city and the surrounding area have plenty to offer.

You can head up to Torrey Pines, which is located near La Jolla and just north of the city of San Diego. You will find a glider field, where you will be able to learn how to go hang gliding and paragliding. This is fun, and it isn’t for the faint of heart. If you want to try something that’s a bit more adventurous, you can always go skydiving in the area.

Another attraction that you might want to try is dog fighting in old aircraft at San Diego Top Dog Air Combat Flights. Of course, you aren’t really going to be firing at the “enemy”, but you will be able to get the feeling of what it must have been like for pilots back in WWII. Best of all, you actually get to do quite a bit of the flying and you don’t need a pilot’s license. The plane will have a pilot in it that will be able to watch you, take control if needed and make sure that everything is nice and safe.

The area has plenty of dive sites as well. If you want to go diving, you will find quite a few tours that will take you offshore. You can also go snorkeling and scuba diving in La Jolla Bay and other areas.

If you are looking for a bit of adventure, you are going to love what you will find in San Diego! Check out some of the great things to do, and your adrenalin levels will never be the same.
