Austin, Texas is inarguably one of the most interesting vacation destinations in the United States. It is the capital of Texas. It happens to have some great attractions. In addition to being the capital of the state, it is also a center for great music. You will be able to find quite a few aspiring and already famous musicians in the city, and you can find live music on any given night. No matter your musical tastes, you should be able to find a venue that suits you.

Visitors will be able to check out some of the many great museums in the city. One of the most popular is the Lyndon Baines Johnston Library and Museum. The museum is a 10-story building that features quite a bit of memorabilia and artifacts, as well as a replica of the Oval Office as it was when Johnson was President.

The Zilker Botanical Garden is another attraction that you might want to visit. The garden is on 31 acres and features plants that thrive in the southwest. The Austin Zoo is a fun place to visit as well. The entire family will love all of the different animals at the zoo including the lions, tigers, bears and reptiles.

You can also see some incredible wild animals when you watch the bat colony take off from beneath the Congress Avenue Bridge on summer evenings. You can watch more than a million of these bats take off! It’s very impressive.

You will also find some wonderful places to dine and shop while you are in the area. Make it a point to try some authentic Texas barbeque while you are there. Of course, you will find something that will please every set of taste buds in your family.

If you are flying from southern Canada. Its possible to find a cheap flight from American airports located close to the border.
