Interesting Places to Visit in New Zealand

New Zealand is an interesting place, filled with national parks and some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. The area is so lovely that it was the setting for film version of The Lord of the Rings, Tolkien’s epic tale turned movie by Peter Jackson. The famed director, and New Zealand native, is filming The Hobbit there as well. It is possible to see some of the sites where the original films were shot.

Those who are traveling to the country will find that there are plenty of other great places to visit and attractions to see as well. Fox Glacier is located in the Westland National Park on the western coast of the south island. The glacier is a great place to visit because it is so easily accessible. Hikers will find be able to start their trek from a nearby village. The Northland Forest is another popular natural attraction. You can find some trails in the area and marvel at some of the tallest trees in the world.

 

If you are craving an indoor adventure for a change of pace, consider stopping into the Sky Tower of Auckland. The tower features a casino that is open 24hrs a day. The tower also features a bar and a restaurant, and it provides visitors with a view that they will never forget. For another unforgettable experience, you can try jumping off the deck attached only by a bungy rope!

 

Check out the beaches as well. You will be able to find some great surfing along the coast. The north and south island both have some wonderful things to offer, and you should take some time to spend in each region. Everyone can have a great time when visiting New Zealand. It’s about time you saw everything that the country has to offer.
