Weather can be unpredictable and there is no exception when you are on vacation. Even if you check the weather in advance and book at the last minute, there is no guarantee that you will get a whole week without rain. In that case, here are some great things to do on that rainy day:
Read a Book
Reading a book is a great way to spend a rainy day while you are on vacation. Not only does it burn a good chunk of time, but reading will also slowly lull you into a state of relaxation. Whether it be books or magazines, take a couple hours out of a rainy day to dive into a great novel or magazine that catches your interest.
Take a Nap
Taking a nap is an outstanding way to get relaxed and kill some time. There is nothing like a midday siesta to sooth your body from the stress and rigors of the daily grind. Be mindful not to stretch the nap out too long otherwise it will be difficult to get back into the same sleep rhythm at night. Try to limit your nap to between 20 and 45 minutes to avoid this problem.
Watch a Movie
Watching a movie will give you some time to unwind and enjoy your hotel room. Many hotels offer a wide selection of in-room movies to choose from.
Play a Board Game
Board games have been a great pass time for decades. Traditional games such as Scrabble and Clue are great to play with the family. Don’t forget about Monopoly or Life. Some resorts will have these games on hand in the lobby or recreation area.
Make a List
When all else fails, make a list. If it is raining on your vacation, make a list of things you would like to do with the remaining days. If you have to fly out the next day, make a list of all the things you need to catch up on.
