Summer is just around the corner which means it’s time to start getting your body ready for the pool and beach. As the sun starts to heat up the air outside and the layers of clothes start to strip away, you may notice that there is still some ‘winter weight’ that has hung on since the holidays. That’s no problem, we are here not only to provide you with great deals on vacation packages, but also to help you with a plan to stay in shape during the beach season.
As the summer carries on, we will post 2 -3 workouts every week that will help you reach your goals of being in outstanding shape.
The first few weeks will consist of lots of conditioning and core exercises. The goal of this is to get a solid conditioning and strength base that will carry you through the training sessions as the weeks pass.
The second phase of the sessions will include some variation of the conditioning exercises, plyometrics, and include speed agility and quickness exercises.
An important thing to remember about these workouts is that you should warm up and cool down before and after each session. Keep in mind that stretching portions of the workouts should never be skipped because flexibility is key to injury prevention. Also, proper nutrition and hydration (before, during, and after workouts) will help you recover faster and get better results.
You may find that the workouts resemble the methods by which you have seen athletes train for competitions. These workouts have been formulated from years of experience in athletic training. Keep this in mind because these training sessions will force you to get outside of your comfort zone and push yourself to new limits.
