Named after Sir John A. Macdonald and Sir George Etienne Cartier, YOW is located 10km from downtown Ottawa. Previously, the airport was a military base known as CFB Ottawa South/CFB Uplands. It is Canada’s sixth busiest airport and is one of eight Canadian airports that have United States border preclearance facilities. There is one passenger Terminal with three levels: Level 1 is the arrivals and baggage claim level. Level 2 is the secured area with security hold-rooms. There is also access to gates 15, 16, & 17 in the center, 1 to 14 to the left and 18 to 28 to the right. Level 3 houses the check-in counters for domestic and international flights.

Coming From Orleans:

• Driving: Take Regional Road 174 W via the ramp to Ottawa. Follow signs for 417 W/Ottawa to merge onto 417 W/Queensway/Trans-Canada Hwy. Take Bronson Avenue exit. Merge onto Catherine Street and turn left onto Bronson Avenue. Follow airport signs.

Coming From Kanata:
