Traveling to the Olympics? Be Advised

The 2014 Olympic games in Sochi, Russia promise to be another memorable edition of amateur sport’s most important gathering. Countries from around the world are sending their best athletes to compete in Russia and they will be followed by massive amounts of spectators aiming to see the fierce competition. Canadian travelers must be advised that this version of the Olympics taking place in Sochi will be much different from the one Vancouver hosted in 2010. Russia, and this part of the world in particular, is host to a completely different set of challenges for those who wish to visit the country as a spectator.  (more…)

Who knew that the world’s largest gelato exhibition is taking place right now in Rimini, Italy? It’s not a very well kept secret with over 144,000 visitors attending SIGEP in 2013 with more expected this year. This year’s edition is taking place from January 18th to 22nd at Rimini Fiera and entitled the ‘SIGEP International Exhibition of Artisan Gelato, Confectionary and Bakery Production’. What can possibly be so special that 150,000 visitors flock to the summer beach destination of Rimini in the middle of winter?
